Lauren Caster is a writer, director, actor and Southern California Native based in Los Angeles. She has spent the last decade working on sets as an actress while learning vital lessons from a long list of filmmakers who have served as mentors and inspired her own work behind the camera. Including Vincent D’onofrio, Sharon Chatten and Margie Haber.

Her first short Donor Baby was picked up by Amazon and she then went on to direct two more shorts, Plan C and Becoming which have all led to many exciting opportunities as an emerging filmmaker. Including winning a development deal with Lifetime as part of a Pitchfest presented by The Wrap for emerging female filmmakers. They just wrapped filming on a Lifetime Original TV Movie “You're Not Supposed To Be Here”, a story by Lauren Caster where she served as associate producer and shadowed the director. 

Lauren draws inspiration from filmmakers like Mike Mills and Greta Gerwig, known for their unique and unconventional storytelling. Her work explores modern narratives with wit and depth, featuring relatable characters who defy the typical quest for love. With a keen eye for detail and a refreshing approach, her work is both smart and distinctive.
